An Encumbered Heart Still Beats is a duet between Bassoon and Piano on the idea of always going forward, despite the difficulties. Carrying the burdens of life on your heart is difficult and can feel hopeless. Despite that, the heart continues to pump while holding what can feel like the weight of the world. To love- and to live- is to know that despite the struggles faced and experiences that have hurt us, we will continue on, and our hearts will continue to beat.
