Living is Resistance.
Living is Resistance.
The Heir to the throne may have their own dreams. Prehaps they dream of creating masterpieces, prehaps they long to travel to far away places. Or maybe all they want is a quiet life to themself. Life isn't fair for them, They do not get to decided their fate. They do not get a say in their destiny. They must bear their crown and hold the burden to rule upon their shoulders, upon their life.
The Heir is a piece written for wind ensemble, and is still in the final stages of completion.
The piece features wisps of falling flute ostinatos, grand and royal brass, militaristic drum led passages, gentle and grand swells that bring the listener along the journey. The Heir is built around a main motif that grows as the song does, but at the end of it all no matter how far it's come, the Heir can not escape what they must become.
